Scheduling Conflicts and Calendar FAQ

What happens if I try to double-book a staff member?

WAJ warns you about scheduling conflicts but doesn't stop you from double-booking if that's genuinely what you want — you're always in control. If you try to book a staff member outside their working hours, or during a time they're already committed elsewhere, a Scheduling Conflict dialog appears showing the time you selected next to that staff member's actual working hours. From there you can Reschedule to a different time, or tap Proceed Anyway to book it regardless.

How do I know a conflict is coming before I even save?

While choosing services, inline badges warn of a conflict — "Conflicts with existing booking" or "Conflicts with blocked time" — whenever the staff member, time, or resource you've picked overlaps with something already on the calendar.

Can WAJ resolve a conflict for me automatically?

Yes — if a conflict comes up and you'd rather not resolve it manually, Schedule for Me automatically looks for the nearest available staff member or time slot that avoids it.

Why don't I see all staff on the calendar?

By default the calendar auto-shows only staff who have a shift or a booking on the selected day, to keep it uncluttered. Use the filter drawer to show or hide specific staff. If you cannot see other staff at all, you may lack the "Access other staff members' calendar" permission, which limits you to your own calendar.

Can I move or resize a booking directly on the calendar?

Yes. Drag a booking block to move it to a new time or staff column, or drag its bottom edge to change its duration. The change saves automatically and is recorded in the booking's activity log.

How do I find a specific booking quickly?

Switch to Table view, which lists bookings in a searchable grid. This is faster than scanning the visual timeline when you're looking for one customer or booking.

Why did a service price change automatically?

If your business uses dynamic pricing, service prices are adjusted automatically at booking time based on the day and time slot — a discount during off-peak hours or a premium during surge periods. The adjusted price is shown when the booking is created.

How do I check a customer in and take payment?

Open the booking and mark the customer as arrived, then start the service when it begins. When the visit is done, use Checkout to take payment. You can also add products or memberships to the sale during the visit.
