Charging More for a Senior Stylist (Staff-Level Pricing)

Can I charge more for a senior or more experienced staff member?

Yes. When creating or editing a service, WAJ lets you set staff-specific pricing — a different price for one or more chosen staff members (a senior stylist, for instance), while every other staff member who provides that service keeps charging the base price.

How it works

Open the service in Services and use its Staff-specific pricing section. Pick the staff member(s) who should get a different rate and set their price for that service. Everyone else assigned to the service continues to charge the service's base price.

Alternative: service variations

For tiered pricing that isn't tied to a specific person (for example a "Junior" vs. "Senior" rate that any qualifying stylist can be booked under), you can instead add Variations to a service — named sub-options each with their own price and duration, such as "Junior Stylist" and "Senior Stylist."

Related pricing features (and what they do not do)

  • Dynamic pricing (Dynamic Pricing screen) applies time-based markups and markdowns — Surge and Off-peak rules tied to the day and time of week. It adjusts prices by schedule, not by staff member.

  • Commission plans (Staff → Commission Plans) pay a staff member a percentage of their sales. This changes how the staff member is compensated internally; it does not change the price the customer pays.
