Example 1: Setting Up a New Staff Payment Plan

Scenario: You hire a new stylist and want to pay them 30% commission per booking.

Steps:

  1. Go to StaffPayment Plans

  2. Click Create a Plan

  3. Name it "Stylist 30% Commission"

  4. Select Booking BasedPercentage

  5. Enter 30 as the value

  6. Select the branch

  7. Check the new staff member

  8. Set start date to today

  9. Click Create a Plan

Result: The staff member will earn 30% of every booking value.


Example 2: Adding a New Payment Method

Scenario: You want to accept Apple Pay at your salon.

Steps:

  1. Go to SettingsPayment Methods

  2. Click Add Payment Method

  3. Name it "Apple Pay"

  4. Select the Card icon

  5. Click Create Payment Method

  6. Toggle the switch to activate it

Result: Customers can now pay with Apple Pay.


Example 3: Creating Mixed Staff Compensation

Scenario: Senior stylists get fixed salary + commission, junior stylists get hourly wage.

Steps:

  1. Create plan "Senior Stylist Base" (Fixed → Monthly, $2000)

  2. Create plan "Senior Commission" (Booking Based → Percentage, 10%)

  3. Assign both plans to senior stylists

  4. Create plan "Junior Stylist Wage" (Hours Based → Fixed Amount, $15/hour)

  5. Assign to junior stylists

Result: Senior stylists receive base salary + 10% commission, juniors get $15/hour.


Example 4: Handling Invoice with Multiple Payment Methods

Scenario: A customer pays partially with cash and uses a gift card for the rest.

Steps:

  1. Complete the booking

  2. Invoice shows total: $150

  3. Customer pays $50 cash

  4. Customer uses $100 gift card

  5. Invoice updates to show both payments

  6. Payment status changes to Paid

Result: Invoice correctly tracks both payment methods.
