A good couples spa package is two treatments delivered at the same time, in one prepared room, by two therapists who start and finish together, wrapped in small touches that make it feel like an occasion. In the Gulf it also has to fit your licence and your guests' expectations, which usually means designing it for married couples and offering a version for mothers and daughters or friends. Get the scheduling and the room right first. The candles and rose petals come last.
Most spas get this wrong the same way. Two 60-minute massages, one room, a price premium, done. Then one therapist starts eight minutes late, the room is cold, and nobody knows it is their anniversary. The couple does not come back, and the spa decides couples treatments "don't work here". They do. They just need more planning than a single booking.
Start with your licence and your market, not with the menu.
Many spas in the Gulf are single-gender by licence, by building rules or simply by brand. A ladies' spa in Riyadh or a men's grooming spa in Sharjah may not be able to treat a mixed couple at all. Check what your trade licence and local authority allow before you design anything, and if you are unsure, ask the authority or a spa licensing consultant.
Where your licence does permit mixed treatments, as it does for some hotel and resort spas, the realistic market is married couples. Present it as a private experience for husband and wife, train reception to handle questions with tact, and state your policy clearly on the booking page so nobody is surprised at the desk.
If your spa is single-gender, the same structure works for other pairs:
These duo packages use the same room setup and scheduling, so the rest of this guide applies whatever your licence says. If you run a ladies-only business, our guide to ladies salon management in the Gulf covers privacy and staffing in more detail.
The room is the product. Guests remember it more than the oil you used.
If only one room fits two tables, protect it from single bookings on Thursday evenings, often your best couples slots.

This is where most couples packages fail. You need two therapists and one room, all free at the same time, with buffer either side. Build it into your system rather than relying on reception's memory:
In WAJ, you can create the couples experience as a package, see both therapists' bookings on the same staff calendar, and let guests book it from your online booking site. WhatsApp reminders go out before the visit, which matters more than usual here: a no-show on a couples booking wastes two therapists and your best room. For occasion packages booked weeks ahead, a deposit is reasonable too.
Occasion packages sell on the story, so give each one a clear reason to exist.
Anniversary package. Longer treatment time, a shared ritual such as a foot soak or scrub, and something to take home. Ask for the date at booking and save it in the client record, so next year you can send a WhatsApp message a few weeks before. That one note in the CRM is how an anniversary becomes a yearly booking.
Honeymoon package. Often bought as a gift by family, so sell it as a gift card too, and talk to hotels and wedding planners. Keep it relaxing: newlyweds after a week of wedding events want rest, not deep tissue.
Add-ons raise the average spend without changing the core treatment. The best are quick to prepare and feel personal: a private steam or bath session, upgraded oils or a scalp treatment, a foot ritual at the start, fresh juice and dates afterwards, a handwritten card, or matching body oils to take home.
Offer three to five at most. Guests choosing between eleven upgrades will choose none.

Price from your costs, not a competitor's menu. A couples treatment uses two therapists plus your most valuable room for longer than a single booking, so it should cost more than two single treatments, not less. The premium covers setup, extras and the slot you can no longer sell.
Three tiers work well because most guests choose the middle one. Our guide on how to price salon services walks through the cost calculation in detail.

Set your own prices from therapist, rent and product costs.
The repeat booking comes from what happens after the first visit.
It depends on your licence, location and local rules. Many spas are licensed for one gender only. Check with your licensing authority first, and offer duo packages for same-gender pairs if mixed treatments are not permitted.
Usually 60, 90 or 120 minutes of treatment, plus 15 to 30 minutes of room time for setup and turnover.
Yes, in most cases. It ties up two therapists and your best room at once, and the extras cost you money.
Mother-and-daughter, friends and bridal duo packages, which use the same room and scheduling setup.
Send WhatsApp reminders and consider a deposit for occasion packages, since one no-show wastes two therapists and a room.
